Best Noise-Cancelling Headphones

Noise-cancelling headphones are more important than ever, whether you wear them on your way to work in the morning, while travelling, or just to get some peace and quiet while working at home. You can choose from a lot of great options.

Since Bose was the first company to make noise-canceling headphones, many other companies have followed suit. There are now a lot of great options if you like to listen to music or podcasts in peace. The market is very competitive, which is good for all of us because it means there are a lot of great noise-cancelling headphones and noise-cancelling Bluetooth earbuds to choose from.

The best noise-canceling headphones usually cost more than $200, and some high-end models cost twice as much or more. However, there are plenty of good ANC headphones and earbuds that cost less. So, some of the models on the list are expensive. But I’ve also included some good models that don’t cost too much but still do a good job. All of the headphones and earbuds on this list have been fully reviewed or listened to by me. This list is updated as new models come out on the market.

Features of good Noise- Cancelling Headphones:

No matter how you use them, the most important things to look for in the best noise-cancelling headphones are :

  • comfort.
  • how well they block out outside noise.
  • sound quality
  • battery life
  • whether they can connect to more than one audio source at once.

Sony WH-1000XM5:

Change can be risky when a lot of people love the product. This is the case with Sony’s WH-1000XM5, which is the fifth generation of the 1000X series headphones. The first generation, the MDR-1000X Wireless, came out in 2016 and has gotten more and more popular as each new generation has come out. Company has made some small changes over the years, but nothing as big as what it did with this model.. Aside from the higher price of $400 (which is $50 more than the WH-1000XM4), most of these changes are good, and Sony has made big changes to the way voice calls work and how noise cancelling and sound quality work.
But if you want something a little different, you can still find a lot of options.

The QC45 headphones from Bose are a great return to form. They look a lot like the QC35II. This means that they’re incredibly light and comfortable to wear, even for an entire day. The oval ear cups never hurt your ears, and when it comes to comfort, no one can beat Bose. The best part is that, unlike the Noise Canceling Headphones 700, these can be folded up. This makes them easier to take with you when you travel. These are the most comfortable noise cancelling headphones.

Mark Levinson 5909:

If you can pay for it, it’s great.
The No. 5909 is Mark Levinson’s first pair of headphones. They cost $999, which is a lot of money. But they are also great. They have a sturdy design, but they don’t feel too heavy on your head. They’re also comfortable to wear for long periods of time because the leather-covered earcups and headband are well-padded and can be replaced.

Not only do they cancel out noise well and sound great, but they also do a great job with voice calls. Also, they have Bluetooth pairing that is multiple. You can connect them to two devices at the same time, like a computer and a phone.

The No. 5909 are high-res certified and work with Sony’s LDAC and Qualcomm’s aptX Adaptive codecs, which let you stream music over Bluetooth with almost no loss. The iPhones and iPads from Apple don’t work with these codecs, but some Android devices do. When I connected the No. 5909 headphones to my iPhone 13 Pro via Bluetooth, they sounded a little more natural and polished than the AirPods Max .(the No. 5909 had a touch more “pure” and accurate sound).

When Apple came out with a set of noise-canceling headphones for $549, people were definitely shocked by the price. The AirPods Max cost a lot more than any of the other headphones we recommend. But Apple’s build quality is on a different level. These headphones are made of steel and aluminium instead of the plastic you’ll find in most noise-canceling headphones. The mesh fabric on the ear cups lets air flow through. There’s no getting around the fact that these headphones are big. The only thing that makes the AirPods Max feel cheap is that Apple didn’t include a headphone cable in the box. And I like how easy it is to control the game with the digital crown instead of taps and swipes, which don’t always work.

Bose 700:

The Noise Cancelling Headphones 700 are the company’s best.
Even though they’ve been out for a while. Bose Noise Cancelling Headphones 700 are still one of the best over-ear noise-cancelling headphones. They have great sound, block out noise well, and have great headset performance for voice calls. The newer Bose QuietComfort 45 headphones might be a little bit more comfortable and block out a little bit more noise, but the Headphones 700 might sound a little bit better with a more refined sound. Take a look at our review of the Bose Noise Cancelling Headphones 700.

With the Surface Headphones 2, Microsoft kept the great way to control them by turning a dial. It improved the sound quality and battery life in noticeable ways. Once you’re used to just twisting the dial around each ear cup to change the volume or noise cancellation level. You’ll never want to go back to looking for button nubs.

Marshall Monitor II ANC:

The noise-canceling headphones from Marshall stand out because of how they look and how easy it is to control your music with a joystick. They can also play music for up to 45 hours on a single charge.
